The Enforcement Directorate has confiscated properties worth eight crore and twenty-four lakh owned by former Samajwadi Party Arif Anwar Hashmi. These properties are spread over Gonda, Balrampur, and Lucknow. Hashmi is the former SP MLA from Utraula in District Balrampur.
The action has been initiated against the former MLA after the Balrampur police lodged cases against him under the Gangsters Act, land grabbing, cases of fraud, and criminal planning.
