The former Principal of Bishop Johnson Girls School and College Parul Soloman has been arrested in the RO/ ARO paper leak issue and sent to Jail. The Special Task Force which is investigating the case made the arrest.
It has been alleged that the centre in charge Arpit Vineet Yashwant had leaked the paper with the help of the principal.
After her arrest, she was produced before a court where after the acceptance of the remand application she was sent behind bars.
According to the STF, there were several things found against the principal that indicate her involvement in the paper leak issue which had snowballed into a major controversy bringing thousands of aspirants to take to the streets and stage protest demonstrations.
The air and sanctity of the competitive examinations had been compromised and there is deep unrest and disbelief amongst students regarding the purity of examinations. The government has also taken a serious view and wants to cleanse the system to restore the faith of students in all such examinations that deal with the future and career of students.
The Principal had not been appearing before the STF despite repeated reminders.
Finally, she was summoned to the STF office in Allahabad and questioned for about four hours. She was arrested there and taken to the Civil Lines police station where she was handed over to the police. Hereafter, she was taken to the court which sent her to Jail.
Additional Police Superintendent Lal Pratap Singh said the arrests were based on certain evidence and investigations were on to find the complicity of more persons. Action will be taken in case we come across more people’s involvement.
