In this unbearable heat even street animals look for respite but in Allahabad’s dense Kareily locality people were forced to live without power supply for nearly 23 hours.
The situation is reported to have erupted following damage to ABC cable that caused snapping of power supply in the entire area where lakhs of consumers are living.
With power outage the water supply also stopped resulting in untold miseries to residents of this area.
Sources said, power was disrupted suddenly Sunday night around 10 and it was restored at 9 pm the other day.
Angry consumers laid a seize at the power sub station but they had to wait full twenty three hours to be back to normal life.
Hundreds of consumers spent the night on balconies and terraces of houses and several others were seen countering heat on roads in the area.
The entire night and most of Monday evening was spent in waiting for power to come back.
