The day stood as a tribute to the timeless bond between the Guru and the disciple, and also marked the school’s unwavering dedication to holistic education.

Morning Commencement and Inaugural Ceremonies

The day commenced with a special morning assembly, where students and staff came together in a spirit of devotion and gratitude. This was followed by an elaborately organized Cultural Presentation held in the school auditorium, creating an ambience of sacred celebration.

The event was seamlessly and elegantly hosted by two talented students from Class VII—Kinjal and Agayeya, who conducted the entire program with great confidence and flair.

Class VII Showcases Talent and Gratitude

The students of Class VII took center stage during the cultural segment, offering a series of thoughtfully curated and creative performances that reflected both cultural depth and the school’s core values.

Presence of Esteemed Dignitaries

The celebration was honoured by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mrs. Tripti Sharma, Mrs. Rekha Baid, School Secretary Dr. Krishna Gupta, and Treasurer Mr. Ravindra Gupta. Their presence added dignity and encouragement to the event.

Speeches Filled with Insight and Wisdom

In his inspiring address, Mr. Ravindra Gupta extended warm wishes to the school community and emphasized the spiritual importance of Vyas Purnima, remembering the contributions of Maharishi Ved Vyas, the great sage and compiler of the Vedas. He reminded students and teachers alike of the transformative power a Guru holds in shaping character, intellect, and values.

Dr. Krishna Gupta, in his insightful speech, elaborated on the etymology of the word ‘Guru’, explaining that ‘Gu’ denotes darkness and ‘Ru’ denotes the remover—thus a Guru dispels ignorance and leads the student towards enlightenment. He reflected on the visionary ideals of Maharshi Patanjali, whose name the school proudly bears, emphasizing the school’s mission to fuse scientific thought with spiritual enlightenment.

School-Wide Engagement and Creative Activities

Across all classes—from Grade I to Grade XII—students participated in thematic class-wise activities, designed to encourage self-expression, gratitude, and creativity. Activities included:

  • Writing dedications and reflections on the school’s founder and teachers.

  • Composing shlokas, dohas, and letters of appreciation.

  • Creating handmade cards, gratitude chains, colourful paper flowers, and thematic props.

  • Students from the senior secondary classes took the initiative to organize Youth Parliament sessions, Just-a-minute (JAM) activities, PowerPoint presentations on Millets (in line with sustainability), and recitation of poems and songs, all echoing the core theme of Guru Purnima and reverence for educators.

A Fitting Conclusion

The grand celebration culminated with a sincere and moving Vote of Thanks delivered by the school’s Principal, Mrs. Alpona Dey. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the teachers for their dedication, to the students for their brilliant efforts, and to all staff and guests for making the event meaningful and memorable. She also acknowledged the support of parents and well-wishers whose encouragement strengthens the school’s journey.

In essence, the Guru Purnima and Foundation Day celebration at Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir stood as a beacon of cultural pride, educational excellence, and spiritual awareness, serving as a reminder of the eternal value of gratitude and the sacred bond between teacher and student.
