15-Year-Old Boy Dies After Alleged Beating by Fellow Students in Mangolpuri, Delhi
New Delhi: A 15-year-old boy tragically lost his life on Friday evening after he was allegedly beaten by a group of students outside a government school in Outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri area. Police have registered a murder case and apprehended seven juveniles in connection with the incident.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 5 pm. Preliminary reports indicate that there had been a prior altercation a few days ago between the victim and one of the juveniles involved.
Police Statement
DCP (Outer Delhi) Sachin Sharma said, “The post-mortem examination will determine the exact cause of death. There had been a confrontation some days ago. On Friday afternoon, the deceased reportedly thrashed one of the accused, and by evening, the group retaliated and beat him up. No weapons were used, and there were no visible injuries at the time.”
Family Alleges Negligence
The victim’s relatives have expressed outrage, alleging that the school authorities failed to act despite signs of escalating tension. “They did nothing. There was a security guard present — why wasn’t anyone alerted? When a fight broke out earlier in the afternoon, the school should have informed the police or contacted the family. Our child is gone now — who is responsible?” said family members gathered outside the victim’s house.
School Response
The head of the school, Ashok Kumar, declined to comment on the incident directly. He stated that the Directorate of Education officials have been informed and are aware of the situation.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, the role of the juveniles involved, and whether there was any lapse in school supervision.
