The dismissal of six lady judges from service in Madhya Pradesh has sent ripples in judicial circles in the country more so, because the MP High Court following appeals has made it clear to the Supreme Court that it will stick to its earlier decision of dismissing the six judicial officers.

 The dismissal of these six lady judges comes on the recommendation of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The government of Madhya Pradesh has approved their dismissals.

All the lady Judges were undergoing the probation period. During the course of their tenure, it was found that their performance in judicial work was not satisfactory. Following such remarks against them, an administrative committee reviewed their performance and found that the review of their work was not conducive to the desired level. As a result, the administrative committee recommended their dismissal from services.

This was followed by a full court review which came to the conclusion that their dismissal was rightly carried out. These lady judges were working on probation in various district courts in Madhya Pradesh. Sarita Chaudhari from Umaria, Atulkar Joshi from Rewa, Priya Sharma was working at Indore court, Sonakshi Joshi at Muraina, Aditi Kumar Sharma at Teekamgarh and Jyoti Barkhde was posted at Timarni, Harda.On the other hand, the Madhya Pradesh High Court informed the Supreme Court that it would stick to its decision of terminating the services of the six lady judicial officers for their unsatisfactory performance after the court was asked to review its decision.
