AAMIR KHAN PRODUCTION’S, KIRAN RAO’S DIRECTORIAL ‘LAAPATAA LADIES’ FEATURING RAVI KISHAN SELECTED AS INDIA’S OFFICIAL ENTRY FOR OSCAR 2025
Aamir Khan Productions Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao, featuring Ravi Kishan has been selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars 2025, in the Best Foreign Film Category at the 97th Academy Awards.
It was chosen as India’s official Oscar entry from 29 films.
The comedy-drama starred Ravi Kishan who plays a corrupt Police Officer with an angel’s heart. Superstar Ravi Kishan has performed brilliantly. Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Chhaya Kadam among others. Laapataa Ladies was released in March this year. The film is produced by Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan.
Ravi Kishan, who played inspector Shyam Manohar in Kiran Rao’s directorial ‘Laapataa Ladies’ shared his reactions after the film was chosen for India’s official Oscar entry. He said, “I have thought about winning the National award, or the film will become a hit but the Oscars was always a far-fetched dream.”
The satirical comedy-drama tells the story of a young man whose bride gets accidentally swapped with someone else’s. The film stars Ravi Kishan, and Sparsh Shrivastava along with Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, and Chhaya Kadam. It is based on Biplab Goswami’s prize-winning screenplay, Two Brides.
