Akhilesh Yadav Promises ₹40,000 Annual Assistance for Women Under ‘Nari Samriddhi Yojana’, Felicitates 26 Achievers
Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav has announced that if his party forms the government in Uttar Pradesh, women will receive financial assistance of ₹40,000 every year under the proposed Nari Samriddhi Yojana.
He said additional initiatives would also be introduced to support girls’ education and ensure women’s economic progress, empowerment, and security.
Yadav further stated that the Rani Lakshmi Bai Samman Yojana, which was launched during the previous SP government, would be strengthened and implemented more effectively.
He emphasised that the party aims to form the government in Uttar Pradesh through the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) alliance and introduce several new welfare schemes focused on women’s development and dignity.
The SP chief made these remarks on Sunday while addressing a Women’s Felicitation Ceremony organised at the party headquarters in the names of his grandmother Murti Devi and mother Malti Devi.
During the event, 26 women and young achievers from diverse professional and social backgrounds were honoured for their contributions in different fields.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said that the condition of women reflects the overall state of society and the nation. He highlighted that India is a diverse country with people belonging to different castes and religions, yet the situation of women still requires significant improvement.
He asserted that if people fulfil their responsibilities sincerely, political change can occur through democratic participation without the need for protests.
He also remarked that despite perceived restrictions on expression and dissent, voters ultimately hold the power to bring change through the ballot.
