“DNA Test to Confirm Identity of Former District Panchayat Member”

PRAYAGRAJ: Following the revelation of the murder of former Zila Panchayat member Randhir Yadav, the police are now preparing to perform DNA tests to confirm the identity of a mutilated, unclaimed body found near railway tracks.

The body had already been cremated, presumed to be that of Randhir Yadav, based on statements from the accused. However, to verify this claim, DNA samples from the body will be compared with those from his father and son.

Randhir Yadav (40), a resident of Hathigaon Mohammadpur in Nawabganj, had gone missing on August 22. Six days later, the police uncovered that he had been murdered.

According to their investigation, his friend Uday Yadav—angered by Randhir’s alleged affair with his wife—conspired with relatives and others to kill him.

The accused, Ram Singh Yadav and Uday’s mother-in-law, Leela Yadav, admitted to murdering Randhir on the night of August 22.

They mutilated his face with a stone and dumped his body near the railway tracks at Bamrauli station, where it was struck by a train and severely disfigured.

The Puramuftee police declared the corpse “unclaimed” and cremated it within 72 hours of recovery. After the murder was revealed, Randhir’s father, Ram Abhilash Yadav, identified the body based on the clothing. DCP Ganganagar, Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, stated that the body’s DNA sample will be matched with that of the victim’s relatives for definitive verification.

So far, eight people—including two women—have been arrested in connection with the case.

This includes the perpetrators Ram Singh Yadav and Leela Yadav, plus those accused of aiding and abetting, such as Annu and Mannu (Uday’s brothers-in-law), brother-in-law Satyendra, driver Mithun Sahu, Ram Singh’s wife Pushpa, and Vijay Pasi.

Meanwhile, the main accused—Uday Yadav, his brother Vijay Yadav, and servant Sujeet Srivastava—remain at large, and the police continue their search.
