Jaipur School Tragedies Spark Outcry: Parents Allege Negligence, Demand CBI Probe; Govt Warns Action After Probe Team Stopped at Gate

A little over a week after their nine-year-old daughter died in a tragic fall at a private school in Jaipur, the child’s parents publicly accused the school administration of negligence and attempting to cover up facts related to the incident.

The girl allegedly jumped from the fourth floor of the school building on November 1.

In an emotional video appeal, the grieving mother urged other parents and society to support their call for justice.

She stated that despite their repeated pleas, neither the government nor the Opposition has extended assistance.

The school is powerful, and we are alone in this fight,” she said, urging parents to stand with them.

The family claims their child faced harassment and bullying at school and that repeated complaints were ignored by the school authorities.

They now seek a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, alleging that they have lost faith in the ongoing police investigation.

We feel the investigation lacks seriousness,” the father said.

A senior police officer said the investigation is in progress and no arrests have been made yet.

Tension escalated further after a team from the Education Department was reportedly denied entry to the school while attempting to inspect the premises. Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar has assured action, warning the school for non-cooperation.

Second Incident at Another Jaipur School

In a separate incident, a Class 4 student at another private school in Jaipur died on Saturday in a similar fall from the fourth floor of the school building.

Police preliminarily believe the child died by suicide.

The parents, however, have lodged an FIR accusing the school of negligence.

Officials arriving to investigate after the incident were allegedly stopped at the gate, prompting criticism of the school’s conduct.

A parent’s association representative claimed the child may have been distressed due to alleged harassment by a teacher, citing inputs from other students.

He also alleged the school cleaned the site of the fall, potentially removing crucial evidence. Authorities have not confirmed these claims, and investigations are ongoing.

These cases are a serious wake-up call. Children today are emotionally vulnerable.

Schools and parents must jointly address student mental health and ensure safe learning environments,” the association said.

The back-to-back tragedies have triggered widespread concern over student welfare and accountability in schools, especially regarding bullying, mental health support, supervision, and prompt institutional transparency in emergencies.

Meanwhile, the child’s mother in a video is reported to be saying that nobody was supporting us as the school is very powerful… So, is the school more powerful than the law of the land? It is a question being asked by several parents.

They also wonder why news outlets are not mentioning the names of the schools where the tragedies took place.
