Tere Ishq Mein — the much-talked-about romantic drama starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon — may have drawn mixed critical reactions, but at the box office, the film is clearly striking the right chords.
The Aanand L Rai directorial has delivered a powerful performance during its opening weekend, steadily raking in strong numbers since hitting theatres on 28 November 2025.
According to sources, the movie grossed ₹16.00 crore on Day 1, followed by ₹17.00 crore on Day 2, and then surged to ₹18.75 crore on Day 3, bringing the total net India collection for the first weekend to a robust ₹51.75 crore.
This impressive haul places “Tere Ishq Mein” as the second-highest opening weekend for Dhanush, only behind his 2013 hit Raanjhanaa, which earned ₹19.9 crore in its first weekend.
Given the current momentum, industry observers expect “Tere Ishq Mein” to surpass Raanjhanaa’s lifetime net India total of ₹60.22 crore within the coming days.
It’s a notable feat — especially in a year where many films have struggled to draw audiences. Comparatively, “Tere Ishq Mein” outperformed several 2025 releases such as Metro… In Dino (₹16.75 crore first weekend), Bhool Chuk Maaf (₹28 crore), and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (₹22.25 crore).
On the international front, too, the film earned around ₹5 crore overseas within two days, contributing to a strong global start. As of Saturday, worldwide gross stood at ₹44.25 crore.
Looking at theatre-wise occupancy on Sunday: Hindi-language shows overall saw 32.82% occupancy across 5,186 shows nationwide.
Evening screenings drove the highest turnout at 45.63%, while afternoon shows recorded 38.6% occupancy.
Among key cities, Chennai led with 52.25% occupancy across 80 shows, Pune followed at 37.75% with 431 shows, while Mumbai recorded 33% occupancy over 922 shows.
The film held steady in the Delhi-NCR region with 32.25% occupancy across 1,268 shows.
With strong audience turnout and steady revenues, “Tere Ishq Mein” is shaping up to be one of 2025’s surprising box-office winners.
