‘Baahubali: The Epic’ Roars Back to Theatres With Huge Response, Nostalgia Wave as Remastered Edition Draws Crowds’
The return of Baahubali to theatres has turned into a grand celebration of cinema, nostalgia, and technical wizardry. Baahubali:
The Epic, the freshly re-edited, remastered single-cut version of S.S. Rajamouli’s legendary two-part saga, has once again pulled the audience back into the kingdom of Mahishmati — reminding everyone why the franchise revolutionized Indian filmmaking nearly a decade ago.
The film, led by Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar, roared back to screens across India and international markets with an opening-day response most new releases struggle to achieve today.
Day 1 collections stood at an impressive ₹9.25 crore net in India, with worldwide earnings touching ₹14 crore — proof that time has done nothing to dull Baahubali’s aura.
However, after the euphoric Friday, the second day brought a natural slowdown. According to industry estimates, the film recorded a nearly 26% dip in India on Saturday, collecting ₹7.1 crore.
The Telugu version led the charge with ₹4.75 crore, followed by Hindi (₹1.65 crore), Tamil (₹0.50 crore), Malayalam (₹0.17 crore), and Kannada (₹0.03 crore).
With this, the film’s domestic total reached ₹17.9 crore, while the global tally rose to ₹27.85 crore, indicating strong and steady interest from fans around the world.
Even in terms of occupancy, sentiment was strongest across Telugu-speaking regions, clocking over 53%, followed by Tamil at 40%, while Hindi markets showed relatively modest interest at just under 15%.
Yet in every city, theatres echoed with cheers, applause, and awe as audiences relived iconic moments — from Shivudu’s waterfall leap to the climactic revelation of “Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?”
This re-cut edition is not just a re-release; it is a technological revival.
The film has been remastered with Dolby Atmos sound, IMAX upscaling, and meticulous editorial refinement under Rajamouli’s direct supervision — a cinematic time-capsule polished for the current generation.
Producer Shobu Yarlagadda, speaking about the passion behind this revival, reflected on the essence of bringing Baahubali back: Audiences will experience Baahubali like never before.
The goal is to deliver a cinematic spectacle for a new generation of viewers while reigniting nostalgia for the original fans.”
As crowds continue to gather, the phenomenon proves once again that Baahubali is not merely a film — it is cultural history, cinematic emotion, and an Indian epic for the ages.
The story, the spectacle, and the scale continue to stand tall, not just in memory but now, once more, on the big screen.
