A sessions court in Bombay on July 10 rejected the anticipatory bail application of the man who is accused of uploading obscene deepfake videos of actor Amitabh Bachchan on social media. The pre-arrest bail plea of Abhijit Patil, who runs an Ayurveda medicine company in Rishikesh (Uttarakhand), was rejected by sessions judge V.M. Pathade.
The accused had allegedly created and posted on social media deepfake videos showing Amitabh promoting his products related to sexual health. Patil filed an anticipatory bail application after a case was registered against him.
