Bajinder Singh, once a well-known figure on Instagram and other social media platforms for his viral song Mera Yeshu Yeshu, has now been sentenced to life imprisonment. Singh, who cultivated an image as a faith healer and spiritual leader, was found guilty of heinous crimes that shattered the carefully crafted persona he had maintained for years.

Singh, widely known as the Yeshu Yeshu Prophet, built an empire around his ministry, claiming to cure ailments through divine intervention. His sermons and alleged miracles attracted a massive following, both in India and abroad. However, behind the veil of spirituality and healing, a dark truth was waiting to be exposed.

On March 19, 2025, a Mohali court sentenced Bajinder Singh to life imprisonment in connection with a case dating back to 2018. The charges against him included Section 376 (rape), Section 323 (causing voluntary hurt), and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

While Singh was convicted, five other individuals—Akhbar Bhatti, Rajesh Chaudhary, Jatinder Kumar, Sitar Ali, and Sandeep Pehlwan—were acquitted in the same case.

Security was tight at the court complex as Singh arrived under heavy police protection from Mansa jail. His sentencing marked the end of a long legal battle that began after a woman from Zirakpur filed a complaint against him at the Zirakpur police station in Mohali district.

The victim’s legal counsel, Anil Kumar Sagar, stated after the verdict:

“He (Singh) will remain behind bars till his last breath.

Singh’s story is one of dramatic transformation—from a convict to a preacher, and then back to a convicted criminal.

Fifteen years ago, Singh was serving a prison sentence for murder. It was during his time behind bars that he reportedly converted to Christianity, claiming that his newfound faith had rescued him from his past. Originally a Haryanavi Jat, Singh rebranded himself as a religious leader upon his release.

In 2016, he founded the Church of Glory and Wisdom, where he preached about faith and healing. His religious gatherings attracted thousands, and his YouTube channel, boasting 3.74 million subscribers, showcased his supposed miracle healings—ranging from curing HIV to restoring speech to the mute.

Singh’s Mera Yeshu Yeshu music video played a significant role in expanding his influence. The song, in which he sang about the miracles of Jesus, led to a near-cult-like following, with devotees chanting Yeshu Yeshu in reverenc

The name Yeshu, which Singh frequently used in his teachings and music, is derived from Yeshua, the Hebrew name for Jesus, meaning salvation. However, this name carries different connotations in different cultures.

While Christians recognize it as a reference to Jesus, in some Jewish traditions, Yeshu is used as an acronym for a curse—“May his name and memory be blotted out.”

Ironically, Singh, who once preached salvation, now finds himself condemned by the l

The 2018 case, for which Singh has now been sentenced, involved serious allegations of assault and blackmail.

A woman from Zirakpur alleged that Singh sexually assaulted her at his residence in Chandigarh. According to her testimony, the assault was recorded on video, and Singh later used the footage to threaten her. He warned that if she did not comply with his further demands, he would release the video on social media.

Adding to her ordeal, she claimed that Singh had lured her with promises of taking her abroad, only to find herself trapped in a horrifying situation where she was coerced and manipulated.

Despite these allegations, Singh continued his activities for several years, expanding his influence and attracting new followers. However, the legal system finally caught up with him, and after years of litigation, justice was serve

Singh’s troubles did not end with the 2018 case. Just a month before his sentencing, in February 2025, another disturbing incident came to light.

A viral video, reportedly captured by a CCTV camera, showed Singh in a heated argument with a woman in a private room. In the footage, he was seen throwing papers at her before slapping her across the face.

The incident, which occurred on February 14, 2025, led to another police complaint, which was officially filed on March 25, 2025. The footage served as additional evidence of Singh’s violent tendencies and added further damage to his already crumbling reputation.

Additionally, on February 28, 2025, yet another complaint was lodged against Singh by a 22-year-old woman, accusing him of harassment. According to reports, she alleged that he had been sending her inappropriate messages, calling her to his private cabin, and attempting unwanted advances. Singh, however, dismissed these claims as baseless.

For many of Singh’s followers, his conviction has been a painful revelation. Some feel betrayed, having believed in his miraculous healing powers and divine connection. Others see his downfall as a cautionary tale, warning against blind faith in self-proclaimed spiritual leaders.

Despite the years of deception and manipulation, justice has finally been served. Singh, who once promised salvation through miracles, will now spend the rest of his life behind bars—unable to deceive, manipulate, or exploit ever again.
