The alliance of the National Conference (NC) and Congress won the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls, which were the first assembly elections since 2014, first as a Union Territory and first after the removal of Article 370 which gave the erstwhile state special status. And in Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has created history by retaining the state for the record consecutive third term.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of Haryana “for giving a clear majority to the Bharatiya Janata Party once again”.
In J&K’s 90 seats, the NC and Congress have won 49, the BJP 29, and the PDP three. AAP’s Mehraj Malik has handed the Arvind Kejriwal-led party its first-ever electoral win in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Heartfelt gratitude to Haryana. I salute the people of Haryana for giving a clear majority to the Bharatiya Janata Party once again. This is the victory of the politics of development and good governance. I assure the people here that we will leave no stone unturned to fulfill their aspirations,” PM Modi posted on X.
