“Blaze at the Gate: Car Explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station Kills 13; Case Handed to National Investigation Agency, Links to Kashmiri-Terror Module Suspected”

The devastating explosion near the Lal Qila Metro Station adjacent to Delhi’s historic Red Fort has left at least 13 people dead and more than 20 others injured on the evening of November 10, 2025.

The incident has been classified as a potential terror act, with the central government swiftly handing over the investigation to the National Investigating Agency (NIA).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking after a second high‐level security review, declared: “Everyone involved in the blast will face the full wrath of our agencies.”

The historic Red Fort monument has been temporarily closed for visits amid the heightened alert, and defence / internal security forces across the country have been placed on high vigilance.

Who likely carried out the explosion?
Top police sources in Jammu & Kashmir have informed media that the blast may have been orchestrated by the same “trans-national and inter‐state” terror module which was broken in Faridabad a day earlier.
In that Faridabad case, the J&K Police had recently arrested two doctors—one from Haryana’s Faridabad and another from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur—on alleged ties to the terror groups Jaish‑e‑Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwatul Hind (AGH).
DNA link to zero in on the bomber’s identity:
Authorities are pursuing DNA evidence to identify the suspected driver of the vehicle, a Hyundai i20, used in the explosion.
The DNA of the mother of the alleged driver—Umar Nabi from Koil village in Pulwama—has been collected and is being matched with remains and unidentified bodies at Lok Nayak Hospital in Delhi.
Police believe Nabi may be the man behind the wheel, and his village is also the hometown of another doctor arrested in the Faridabad terror module case.
In Faridabad, police recovered approximately 358 kg of suspected ammonium-nitrate explosives from a rented home belonging to Dr Muzammil Ahmad Ganai, tying that officer to the terror network.
