PRAYAGRAJ, (Soraon) A shocking incident of familial violence unfolded in Surat, Gujarat, on Wednesday evening, when a brother-in-law allegedly stabbed his sister’s brother and sister to death, leaving their mother critically injured while she tried to intervene.

According to reports, Ashok Kumar Kashyap, a resident of Badhaiya village, had his elder son, 24-year-old Nishchay Kashyap, and daughter, 22-year-old Mamta Devi, visit their brother-in-law Sandeep Gaur, who lives in Surat with his family and works there.
The purpose of their visit was to collect clothes for Nishchay’s upcoming wedding, scheduled for next month. Ashok Kumar’s wife, Shakuntala Devi, accompanied the children to Surat.
During their visit, a dispute reportedly broke out between Nishchay Kashyap and his brother-in-law Sandeep Gaur, the exact cause of which is under investigation.
In a sudden act of violence, Sandeep allegedly attacked both Nishchay and Mamta with a knife, fatally injuring them. When Shakuntala attempted to intervene to save her children, she was also stabbed and seriously wounded. She has since been admitted to a hospital in Surat for treatment.
