Chief Minister Highlights Strengths of Union Budget 2026, Calls It a Balanced Blueprint of Reform, Growth and Fiscal Discipline

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday praised the Union Budget 2026–27, describing it as a well-balanced document that effectively combines reform, economic growth, and fiscal discipline.

He said the budget would not only support the vision of a “New India” but also open fresh avenues of development, investment, and employment for Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference along with the state’s Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, the Chief Minister said that the infrastructure-focused budget would bring significant benefits to the state, particularly in sectors such as MSMEs, the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, and large-scale infrastructure development.

He expressed confidence that Budget 2026–27 would help Uttar Pradesh play a leading role in achieving the national goal of “Developed India 2047.”

Major Benefits for Uttar Pradesh from the Budget

The Chief Minister outlined several initiatives through which Uttar Pradesh is expected to gain:

  • Training of 10,000 tourist guides across the state
  • Strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s position in electronic manufacturing
  • Special urban infrastructure projects for cities with populations above five lakh
  • Major expansion in the healthcare sector, including enhanced capacity of district hospitals
  • Emergency and trauma centres in every district are to save lives during the “golden hour”
  • Boost to the sports industry and sports manufacturing sector
  • National recognition for Varanasi in the field of Ayurveda
  • Direct benefits to Uttar Pradesh from increased allocations for defence manufacturing

He also revealed that data centres worth investments exceeding thousands of crores of rupees are being set up across the state. So far, data centres with a combined capacity of nearly 700 megawatts have already been established in Uttar Pradesh.

Strong Attack on Opposition Over ‘PDA’ Narrative

While interacting with journalists at his official residence, the Chief Minister also took a sharp dig at the opposition.

He said that the so-called “PDA” narrative is merely an excuse, while the real agenda behind it is dynastic politics.

He emphasised that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed remarkable development over the past 11 years, the benefits of which are now clearly visible at the grassroots level.

Questioning opposition leaders, he asked why concerns for the poor, youth, farmers, and marginalised communities were absent when they were in power.

He said that earlier discussions revolved only around family interests, whereas today the Prime Minister considers the entire nation as one family and works with the welfare of the poor, women, youth, and farmers at the centre of governance.

Laying the Foundation for a Strong and Self-Reliant India

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath further noted that the budget clearly reflects a harmonious blend of reform, growth, and financial discipline.

By weaving these three elements together, the budget lays a strong foundation for building a powerful, self-reliant India while securing the future of the coming generations.

Jewar Airport Update

Responding to a question about the inauguration of Jewar Airport, the Chief Minister said that the process of obtaining the aerodrome license is currently underway.

He added that the airport is expected to be inaugurated later this month by the Prime Minister.
