CM Announces One-Time Settlement Scheme to Fast-Track Pending Housing and Commercial Allotments
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed the Housing and Urban Planning Department to roll out a new One-Time Settlement Scheme — OTS-2026 — to resolve long-pending residential and commercial allotment cases at the earliest.
Chairing a departmental review meeting, the Chief Minister said that delays caused by outstanding dues and disputed matters not only hamper development projects but also create unnecessary hardship for citizens.
He clarified that the scheme would be applicable across all development authorities as well as the Uttar Pradesh Awas Vikas Parishad.
Emphasising a solution-oriented approach, Yogi Adityanath said the department should adopt a mechanism that ensures steady revenue for the government while providing much-needed relief to allottees.
Officials informed the meeting that the earlier OTS-2020 scheme had successfully resolved a large number of cases.
However, many beneficiaries could not complete their final payments due to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The department presented detailed data on default cases across various residential and commercial complexes in the state.
The Chief Minister instructed that OTS-2026 be made more practical and people-friendly. He called for appropriate concessions on outstanding dues and the provision of installment-based payments.
While finalising the scheme’s framework, he stressed that its core objective must remain public welfare and ease for common citizens.
