CM Yogi Adityanath Announces Statewide Model Schools in Every Assembly Constituency, Launches ₹3,300-Crore Education Drive
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday unveiled an ambitious plan to revolutionize the state’s education sector by announcing the establishment of Chief Minister Composite Schools in each Assembly constituency.
Each institution will be developed with a substantial investment ranging from ₹25 to ₹30 crore and will offer seamless education from pre-primary to senior secondary level, all within a single campus.
The announcement came during a high-profile event organized by the Basic Education Council in Lucknow, where CM Adityanath also kick-started educational projects totaling ₹3,300 crore. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak was present alongside him at the ceremony.
A New Model for Holistic Schooling
These newly proposed composite schools will be well-equipped with state-of-the-art science and computer laboratories, a multipurpose hall, and even a stadium for sports and physical education.
CM Adityanath emphasized that the schools would be modeled on Atal Residential Schools, offering all necessary facilities under one roof and setting a new standard for public education in the state.
He highlighted the role of Operation Kayakalp, the Chief Minister Composite Schools initiative, and the Nipun Assessment Programme in reshaping the state’s education ecosystem. The CM expressed confidence that these efforts are laying the foundation for a progressive and inclusive educational model in Uttar Pradesh.
Infrastructure Boost and Direct Benefits
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated new buildings and additional dormitory facilities at 139 upgraded Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas. He also laid the foundation stones for 43 Chief Minister Model Composite Schools and 66 Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Composite Schools, further expanding the state’s school infrastructure.
As part of his continued focus on student welfare, CM Adityanath transferred ₹1,200 per student directly into the bank accounts of guardians through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. These funds are designated for the purchase of school uniforms, sweaters, shoes, socks, school bags, and stationery items.
Operation Kayakalp: A Game Changer
Calling Operation Kayakalp a transformative initiative, the Chief Minister stated that it has already uplifted the condition of nearly all state-run schools. He assured that the remaining 2–3% of schools yet to join the initiative would be covered within this year.
Skill Development and Digital Learning
To enhance the practical skills of future educators, CM Adityanath proposed involving B.Ed and M.Ed students in the Nipun Assessment Programme. This, he said, would expose them to smart classrooms, digital libraries, and other modern teaching tools, offering hands-on experience in a real-world educational setting.
Emphasis on Holistic Child Development
Highlighting the importance of summer camps for all-around development, the CM instructed education officials to include sports, music, dance, drama, and yoga as part of the camp curriculum. These activities, he said, are essential to nurturing creativity and physical well-being in children.
He also directed teachers and principals to actively reach out to homes and ensure the enrollment of all children aged 5–14 years, asserting that no child in any village should be left out of the school system.
Technology Integration in Education
In a significant push towards digital education, the CM inaugurated smart classrooms in 7,409 schools, established ICT labs in 5,258 schools, and oversaw the distribution of 51,667 tablets to teachers. These initiatives are expected to dramatically enhance the quality of education and ensure that both students and teachers are technologically empowered.
A Comprehensive Educational Overhaul
With this sweeping set of announcements and initiatives, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has laid out a bold and comprehensive roadmap to uplift Uttar Pradesh’s education system, promising improved infrastructure, inclusivity, digital learning, and a renewed focus on student development.
