The unrest followed confirmation by Iranian state media that Ayatollah Khamenei had been killed in extensive air raids carried out by the United States and Israel.
US President Donald Trump suggested that the strikes were designed to dismantle Iran’s top leadership and indicated that further military action could follow if deemed necessary.
The coordinated bombardment reportedly hit multiple strategic locations across Iran, including sites linked to military infrastructure, with Iranian outlets citing significant casualties.
