Delhi Blast Probe Widens: Multi-State Hunt Intensifies as Investigators Raid Hostel Room and Lucknow House of Suspended Doctor Parvez Ansari
Lucknow / New Delhi:
The investigation into the Delhi blast broadened sharply on Thursday when a joint multi-agency team raided both the hostel room and private residence of Dr. Parvez Ansari, a senior resident doctor at Integral University, Lucknow, who is now emerging as a crucial link in the doctor-dominated “white-collar extremist module” operating across four states.
Investigators also raided the Parental house of Dr Parvez, where his father, Saeed Ansa, lives. There are no reports of any findings here.
Sources from the Delhi Police Special Cell confirmed that Parvez came under the scanner after technical intelligence detected possible communication exchanges between him and two arrested suspects — Dr. Mujammil and Dr. Umar — key figures in the radicalised medical fraternity-based network spread across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Dawn Raid at Integral University: Hostel Block Sealed, Students Questioned
At around 5:10 AM, a coordinated team from the Delhi Police Special Cell, UP ATS, and the IB quietly entered the Integral University campus. The university administration was alerted only moments before operations began.
The Boys’ Hostel – Block C was immediately sealed, and students were instructed to remain inside their rooms as investigators moved directly toward Room C-217, allotted to Parvez for nearly two years.
Inside Room C-217: Hidden Disks, Circuit Sketches, Encrypted Devices
Investigators described the room as “ordinary at first sight,” but a deeper search yielded items central to the ongoing terror-finance and tech-support probe.
Recovered from the hostel room:
- Two external hard drives hidden inside a pillow cover
- A password-encrypted laptop containing suspected secure chats
- Multiple USB pen drives
- A diary with hand-sketched circuit diagrams
- International courier receipts under scrutiny
- Notes referencing chemical compounds and improvised device components
Preliminary forensic scans revealed recent deletion of large data clusters, suggesting deliberate attempts at digital wiping.
Parvez Missing for 48 Hours – Disappearance Suspicious
The most alarming detail was Parvez’s unexplained disappearance.
Classmates said he left campus on Tuesday evening “to visit a sick relative” and has not returned since.
Investigators believe his vanishing act coincides with the arrest of several module members, strongly indicating he fled to evade capture. A statewide manhunt is now underway.
“University Responds: Zero Tolerance Toward Any Threat to National Security”
Integral University issued a formal statement: We are fully cooperating with investigative agencies. The university maintains zero tolerance toward any activity that compromises national security.”
Second Raid: Parvez’s Lucknow House Yields Phones, Knives, and a Secret Disk
Hours after the campus operation, another joint team from the UP Police and ATS raided Parvez’s private residence in Lucknow.
Authorities recovered:
- Six mobile phones
- Three knives
- An international calling card
- Several digital devices
- A computer containing a secret internal disk, believed to store sensitive information, data
Investigators say the international SIM and calling card were used to communicate with foreign handlers, while several of the phones were linked to contacts in Jammu.
The ATS also revealed that Parvez had created a custom system designed to avoid signal tracing, making surveillance far more difficult — an advanced capability unusual for medical professionals.
A forensic audit of the secret disk is underway.
Attempted Escape and Vehicle Seizure
After the arrest of his sister, Dr. Shaheen Shahid — a key JeM-linked figure in the Faridabad “white-collar” module — Parvez allegedly attempted to flee Lucknow.
He was intercepted, detained, and is currently being questioned.
His vehicle, registered in Saharanpur, was also seized. Investigators discovered that another module operative, Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather of Anantnag — arrested on November 7 — had been living and working in Saharanpur for months, indicating deeper linkages.
Multi-State Searches Underway
As part of the investigation into the Red Fort blast and the doctor-module network, sweeping searches are underway across:
- Lucknow
- Saharanpur
- Lakhimpur Kheri
- Muzaffarnagar
- Noida, Ghaziabad
- Meerut
- Varanasi
- Prayagraj
- Ayodhya
- Mathura–Vrindavan
- Gorakhpur
- Kanpur
- Aligarh
Agencies believe the module consists of highly educated professionals masking extremist operations under the cover of medical careers, making the threat “sophisticated and deceptive.”
Who Is Dr. Parvez Ansari?
- Completed MBBS from Era Medical College, Lucknow
- Coman completed an MD from Agra Medical College
- Joined Integral University as Senior Resident on July 16, 2021
- Described by neighbours as introverted, withdrawn, and avoiding conversation
- Sent resignation email on November 7, claiming selection as an Associate Professor elsewhere
- Never returned to collect belongings
- Believed to have fled after the arrest of Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather
- Police claim he followed the same radicalisation pathway as his sister, Shaheen
“The Network: ‘Highly Qualified, Highly Radicalised, Highly Dangerous”
Investigators say the doctor module represents a new, deeply troubling pattern of professionals with high academic credentials, using reputational cover to shield extremist collaboration and technical facilitation.
A senior officer described the network as: Dangerously deceptive, highly qualified, and operating behind the façade of respectable professions.”
The search for Parvez — now considered a significant operative — continues across multiple states.
