Devotion and Grandeur Mark the Ramdal Procession in Mumfordganj

PRAYAGRAJ: The spirit of devotion and celebration reached its peak on Saturday evening as the Mumfordganj Ramdal Committee organized its grand Ramdal procession with unparalleled splendour and religious fervour.

Following the auspicious conclusion of Dussehra, the streets of Mumfordganj came alive with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” as the majestic procession, led by Lord Hanuman, moved through the illuminated avenues of the city.

Mounted gracefully on the royal Airavat (elephant), idols of Lord Shri Ram, Lakshman, and Goddess Sita were the centerpiece of the celebration, radiating divine serenity and drawing immense devotion from onlookers.

People thronged the roads to witness the divine spectacle, showering petals of faith and reverence upon the procession as it passed. The streets, bathed in milky white light, reflected the vibrant spiritual energy that enveloped the entire locality.

The grand procession was ceremoniously inaugurated by Member of Parliament Praveen Patel, Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, MLA Harshvardhan Bajpai, MLC Surendra Chaudhary, MLA Deepak Patel, former MLA Anugrah Narayan Singh, former IG K.P. Singh, Metropolitan BJP President Sanjay Gupta, and other distinguished dignitaries.

The event began with traditional worship rituals, after which the guests ceremonially seated Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Sita on the beautifully decorated Airavat, symbolizing the divine commencement of the celebration.

Over a dozen artistic tableaux (chaukis) depicting scenes from the Ramayana and various aspects of Indian culture captivated the audience with their craftsmanship and devotion.

The “Dhamal Band” from Jabalpur added rhythm and grandeur to the evening, filling the air with festive beats. Enthusiastic groups of youth displayed colorful fireworks, lighting up the sky and spreading joy across the neighbourhood.

The procession followed its traditional route, passing through Fountain Chauraha, Myorabad Chauraha, Abkari Chauraha, Halwai Chauraha, and Bharat Scout Guide Road, before culminating at Nagar Nigam Chauraha, where the atmosphere remained charged with faith and festivity late into the night.

Among those who played key roles in organizing and leading the event were General Secretary Varun Kesarwani, Ajay Srivastava, Dilip Singh, Sanjeev Jain, Keshav Singh, Senior Councilor Anand Agrawal, Senior Journalist Ratan Dixit, Ankit Raj, S.K. Pandey, Anand Prakash, Sanjay Srivastava, Umeshchandra Kesarwani, Dr. Pawan Prajapati, Ashwini Kesarwani, Jasmeet Singh Khera, Sanjay Behl, Sumit Yadav, Prabhat Saxena, Om Prakash Dubey, Mahesh Chandra Prajapati, Hem Chandra Prajapati, Ashish Yadav, Sachin Seth, Satish Prajapati, Manish Prajapati, Akash Srivastava, Bunty Yadav, and Rikki Kanojia among many others.

The Mumfordganj Ramdal stood as a glowing symbol of unity, devotion, and the living tradition of Sanatan Dharma, reminding all that the glory of Lord Ram continues to inspire faith, discipline, and joy in every heart.
