Eight naxalites were gunned down in an encounter with security forces and one security personnel died in Naxal torn Narayanpur in Chattisgarh on Saturday.
Two security forces jawans were injured in this encounter with Naxalites.
The injured were airlifted for treatment.
According to IG Bastar range Sundar Raj P, bodies of eight naxalites were recovered from the encounter spot.
The bodies could not be identified immediately. The martyr STF constable has been identified as Nitish Ekka. The injured constables Lekhram Netam 28 and Kailash Netam 33 were being treated.
The incident reportedly took place following combing against naxalites in the jungles in Abujhmad area.
Menwhile, four naxalites including two women were arrested in Bijapur in Chattisgarh. Tiffin bombs and explosive rods were recovered from their possession.
Police also recovered three Improvised Explosive Devices planted along the road in Bijapur by naxalites.
