Prayagraj: Six days after his murder, the body of Randhir Yadav (40), a resident of Hathigaha Mohammadpur and former Zila Panchayat member, was found dumped near the railway tracks at Bamrauli station in the Puramufti area.
The body, already decomposed, was cremated as “unclaimed.” His Scorpio SUV was later recovered abandoned in a forested area of Chitrakoot.
Investigations revealed that Randhir’s close friend Uday Yadav conspired to kill him, allegedly because Randhir had a relationship with Uday’s wife, Anjali Yadav, who had died under suspicious circumstances on July 11. Police say revenge was the motive behind the crime.
Sources said the victim and the killers had gone to Nainital a couple of months ago and were staying in a hotel. Here, one of the accused, Ud, saw his wife and friend Randhir in an intimate position.
At that time, Udai made no reaction, but revenge had begun to take shape in his mind, and the murder was ultimately planned
The FIR, filed by Randhir’s wife Babli Yadav (also a Zila Panchayat member), initially reported him missing on August 23 and later named Uday Yadav and Ram Singh Yadav (Uday’s nephew) as suspects.
Ram Singh Yadav was arrested near Bhagoti Pur Chauraha; during interrogation, he confessed to Uday’s role in the killing. Police have also arrested Leela Yadav (Uday’s mother-in-law) from her home in Umarpur Neeva for aiding the conspiracy.
Uday Yadav, his brother Vijay Yadav, and associate Sujit Shrivastava remain absconding.
Reason Behind the Murder of Randhir Yadav
The murder of Randhir Yadav, a former Zila Panchayat member, was the outcome of a month-old conspiracy rooted in personal enmity, his wife’s suspicious death, and perceived social humiliation. Investigations have revealed that Uday Yadav, along with his family and associates, planned the killing to avenge these factors.
Police officials stated that Uday Yadav, a resident of Nimiya Umarahat in Mohanpur village, and Randhir Yadav were once close friends. After Anjali Yadav, Uday’s wife, died under suspicious circumstances on July 11, tensions escalated. Uday blamed Randhir for tarnishing his family’s reputation.
The FIR was filed by Babli Yadav, Randhir’s wife, who is also a Zila Panchayat member. She reported him missing on August 23. Based on her complaint, an investigation was launched.
Conspiracy
Police revealed that on the night of August 22, Ram Singh Yadav, along with his associates, lured Randhir Yadav to a liquor shop in Hathigaha Bazar. There, Randhir was plied with alcohol and later strangled to death.
After the killing, the accused took his body to the Bamrauli railway tracks in Puramufti and dumped it there to stage it as an accident. Randhir’s Scorpio SUV was later found abandoned in a forest near Chitrakoot.
Body Could Not Be Identified
According to police, Randhir’s body, found near Bamrauli railway station, was so badly decomposed that his identity could not be confirmed. Authorities marked it as “unclaimed” and performed the last rites at a government cremation ground. Randhir’s family only identified him later by his clothes.
Anjali’s Death Under Suspicion
Police have also launched a detailed probe into Anjali Yadav’s death, which had been dismissed as a suicide. Her postmortem report suggested poisoning, raising further suspicion. Investigators now believe Randhir’s killing was linked to this case.
Arrests and Manhunt
Police have arrested Ram Singh Yadav from near Bhagoti Pur Chauraha, who confessed to the murder. Investigators also detained Leela Yadav, Uday’s mother-in-law, for her role in plotting the conspiracy.
Meanwhile, Uday Yadav, his brother Vijay Yadav, and associate Sujit Shrivastava remain on the run. Sujit reportedly manages Uday’s shop in Prayagraj, while Vijay operates another shop in Karachhan.
The police are intensifying their search for all absconding suspect,s said DCP Ganganagar Kuldeep Singh Gunawat
