Four dead three critically injured in Soraon, Prayagraj after their Bolero was hit by a speeding truck in the wee hours Monday

Early Monday morning, a high-speed truck hit a Bolero from behind, killing four people on the spot and injuring three others.

One person had a miraculous escape as he came out unscathed from this ordeal. There were eight people in all. Four occupants were inside the vehicle, while the other four were sleeping in front of the vehicle on a bedsheet that they had spread to pass the time after their vehicle broke down suddenly while it was still dark.

Hence, they decided to spend a couple of hours waiting to look for a mechanic who would repair the vehicle.e

Tired of the journey from Gay, where they had gone to perform Pind Dan, they were all heading towards Kanpur when the mishap occurred.

The group of eight had hired the Bolero at Kanpur. They were all residents of the Kanpur Dehat area. Sixty-year-old Prem Narain, who escaped the jaws of death and found himself alive without a scratch, narrated the tale to some passerswhowhoo in tur, ho alerted the Soraon police.

The dead were identified as Suresh Saini, Suresh Bajpai, his wife, and Ram Sagar Awasth, 65.

The Soraon police wrapped their bodies and sent them to the mortuary, while the three injured were admitted to the SRN hospital in the city.

The truck driver reportedly sped away after ramming the right side of the Bolero and could not be caught. Meanwhile police are trying to trace him.
