Globally acclaimed actor and reigning Bhojiwood superstar, Ravi Kishan, who is also serving his second term as Member of Parliament, has once again captured the nation’s admiration—this time for championing the cause of women empowerment with utmost sincerity and grace.
Striking photographs recently surfaced online, showing Ravi Kishan surrounded by women Members of Parliament, standing tall and proud in solidarity with them. These images have gone viral, sparking enthusiastic conversations across social media. With the actor-politician at the center, both literally and symbolically, the visuals have become a beacon of what women’s empowerment in modern India should represent.
To delve deeper into the sentiments behind the moment, we reached out to the man of the hour himself.
Bollywood Reporter asked: “What does Women’s Empowerment mean to you?”
Ravi Kishan responded with clarity and passion:
“Women’s empowerment is about enabling women to gain power and control over their own lives. It’s about ensuring they can make strategic, independent decisions and contribute meaningfully to society. It means cultivating a strong sense of self-worth, granting freedom of choice, and encouraging their active role in transforming social structures—for themselves and future generations.”
He was recently honoured with the Sansad Award-25, and in 2025, received the prestigious Sansad Ratna Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions in Parliament—further solidifying his stature as a committed public servant.
“What did you feel while standing among the women in Parliament?”
His voice softened but remained firm:
“I felt honored and deeply inspired. Standing with my women colleagues in Parliament reaffirmed my belief that women’s empowerment is not just a cause—it’s a fundamental human right. Supporting their leadership is vital for building a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous society.”
“According to you, what are the key aspects of women’s empowerment?”
Ravi Kishan explained in detail:
“At the core, it begins with self-worth and confidence—helping women believe in their capabilities. That leads to something crucial: decision-making power—the freedom to choose their path in life, whether in education, career, family, or politics. Empowerment also means ensuring equal access to opportunities—education, healthcare, economic participation, and legal protection.”
“Can you elaborate on ‘decision-making power’?”
“Absolutely. It means that women should have the autonomy to decide what’s best for them—without societal restrictions or fear.
Whether it’s choosing to pursue higher education, building a career, or managing household finances, these choices must be theirs to make. And equally important is their inclusion in decision-making at all levels—be it at home, in governance, or within communities.”
“And what do you mean by ‘challenging inequality’?”
Ravi Kishan didn’t hesitate:
“It’s about confronting and breaking down the barriers that stem from centuries of gender bias. It means pushing back against stereotypes, demanding fair treatment, and creating environments where women can thrive without discrimination.”
“Lastly, what are the broader benefits of empowering women?”
With conviction, he said:
“When women are empowered, we all rise. It leads to better health outcomes, stronger families, and more resilient economies. Empowered women tend to make more informed decisions for themselves and their children. Their participation in the workforce boosts economic development. Moreover, empowered women are often the ones who reinvest in their communities, ensuring sustainable progress.”
He concluded with a powerful statement:
“Gender equality and women’s empowerment are not optional—they are essential for building a fair, just, and peaceful world.”
