The Government of India has officially unveiled the full lineup of seven all-party delegations that will be travelling to various countries as part of a coordinated diplomatic outreach under #OperationSindoor.

The aim of this high-level initiative is to expose Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism and to brief key international partners about India’s recent counter-terror operation, Operation Sindoor.

These all-party delegations reflect the unified stance of India’s political spectrum against terrorism and underline the country’s commitment to building a global consensus on countering cross-border terror threats.

The delegations comprise representatives from multiple political parties across the ideological spectrum, signifying bipartisan support for the mission.

Delegation to the Americas

One of the most prominent delegations will be led by Congress leader Dr. Shashi Tharoor, who will head to the United States, Guyana, Panama, Brazil, and Colombia.

This delegation is tasked with engaging leaders, think tanks, and diplomatic communities in the Americas to present concrete evidence of Pakistan’s links to terrorism and to explain India’s position and actions taken during Operation Sindoor.

Dr. Tharoor’s team includes:

  • Shambhavi Chaudhary from Lok Janshakti Party (LJP)
  • Dr. Sarfraz Ahmed of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)
  • G.M. Harish Balayogi of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)
  • Shashank Mani Tripathi, Tejasvi Surya, and Bhubaneshwar Kalita from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
  • Milind Deora, representing the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction)

Joining the political representatives is veteran diplomat Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who will serve as the key diplomatic liaison and provide strategic insights during the interactions abroad.

Delegation to Africa and the Middle East

A separate delegation, headed by Supriya Sule of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction), will be travelling to Egypt, Qatar, Ethiopia, and South Africa.

This team is expected to engage with both African Union officials and influential Middle Eastern stakeholders to explain India’s concerns and the regional implications of unchecked terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

Sule’s delegation comprises:

  • Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Anurag Thakur from the BJP
  • L.S.K. Devarayalu from the TDP
  • Manish Tewari and Anand Sharma from the Congress Party

The group will be supported by former Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson and seasoned diplomat Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin, who will play a vital role in shaping the narrative and building strategic partnerships during the visits.

Delegation to the Gulf and North Africa

Another important team will be led by the BJP’s Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda and will focus on outreach in the Gulf and North Africa.

This delegation is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria, where it will hold high-level talks aimed at highlighting the dangers of cross-border terrorism and the importance of collective regional action.

Notably, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi will be part of this group, underscoring the all-party nature of this diplomatic offensive.

Owaisi’s inclusion is being seen as a strategic choice to broaden the credibility and inclusivity of the Indian message in Islamic countries, many of which have deep bilateral relations with Pakistan.

Broader Implications

These delegations, under the banner of #OperationSindoor, signal a strategic shift in India’s external engagement, where domestic political unity is being leveraged to amplify the country’s position on sensitive international security issues.

The inclusion of representatives from the ruling BJP, opposition parties like the Congress, regional players like TDP, and even minority-focused parties such as AIMIM gives India a strong and credible voice on the global stage.

This coordinated diplomatic mission also reflects the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in India’s foreign policy strategy, as lawmakers from different parties collaborate to build awareness and support abroad.

More delegations and outreach efforts are expected in the coming weeks as India pushes for a global consensus against terrorism and seeks to isolate states that shelter and support terror infrastructure.
