Golden Jubilee Reunion of St. Joseph’s College 1976 Batch Celebrated with Grandeur in Prayagraj
Prayagraj: A magnificent three-day Golden Jubilee celebration of the 1976 batch of St. Joseph’s College, Prayagraj, was held from January 24 to 26, 2026, bringing together alumni from across India and abroad.
The celebrations concluded on Republic Day with a vibrant and colourful March Past at the college grounds, marking a proud and emotional moment for all participants.
The Chief Guest for the grand finale was Rear Admiral Sandeep Beecha, himself a distinguished alumnus of the 1976 batch, who took the salute during the march past.
The Guests of Honour included Rajiv Bhadouria and Siddharth Chattopadhyaya, both proud members of the same batch.
A Journey Down Memory Lane
The celebrations began at a prominent hotel in Civil Lines, where 52 members of the 1976 batch gathered along with their spouses.
The opening day was filled with nostalgia as alumni took turns sharing heartfelt speeches, recounting their life journeys, achievements, challenges, and the role St. Joseph’s College played in shaping their futures.
Following a warm luncheon, the afternoon session was dedicated to remembrance and respect. Tributes were paid to 24 batchmates who have sadly passed away over the years.
A solemn minute of silence was observed in their honour, creating an emotional and reflective atmosphere.
Felicitations, Fellowship and Festivities
As a token of appreciation and unity, mementoes and shawls were presented to all delegates and their wives by Supreme Court advocatMrr. Dhruv Agarwal and his wife.
The evening transformed into a joyful fellowship dinner accompanied by a live band, with music, laughter, and camaraderie filling the air.
Over the three days, celebrations continued with parties and dinners hosted at various venues across the city, strengthening old bonds and forging renewed friendships.
Honouring Teachers and Alma Mater
On January 26, a special program was held at Hogan Hall within the college premises. During this session, the 1976 batch paid tribute to their beloved teachers, presenting them with gifts amid loud cheers and applause. The Principal of St. Joseph’s College addressed the gathering, appreciating the enduring connection between the institution and its alumni.
A Perfect Farewell Evening
The “Beating of the Retreat” ceremony took place in the evening at the residence of one of the alumni. The closing event was filled with storytelling, shared memories, and soulful singing, creating a warm and emotional conclusion to the historic reunion.
