Governor Anandiben Patel Emphasizes Innovation, AI and Ethical Values at Inauguration of 25 New Academic Facilities at Prof. Rajendra Singh University
At the inauguration ceremony of 25 newly developed academic facilities at Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University on Saturday, Chancellor and Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel addressed teachers, students and parents, highlighting the importance of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), technological innovation and strong moral values in shaping the future of the nation.
Encouraging greater parental engagement in higher education, the Governor urged parents to visit universities periodically to understand what their children are learning and the direction in which they are progressing.
She advised students not to limit their ambitions to family expectations alone, but to consider themselves representatives of the aspirations of millions of citizens, emphasising that every student’s positive thinking and constructive effort contributes to nation-building.
Motivating young people to expand their horizons beyond traditional employment goals, she stressed the importance of innovation, research and creative pursuits in driving India’s development.
She observed that the present era is defined by rapid technological transformation and digital advancement, with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence significantly influencing every sphere of life.
She noted that India has demonstrated the ability to convert global challenges into opportunities, citing progress in semiconductor manufacturing and electronic design as examples of the country’s growing technological confidence.
On the occasion, Registrar Dr Vineeta Yadav, Finance Officer Aastha Tiwari, Proctor Prof. Rajkumar Gupta, Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Singh and Prof. Vivek Kumar Singh were present during the ceremony.
Centre of Excellence to be Established
Under an initiative supported by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, a Memorandum of Understanding between DDrA.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University and Siemens will facilitate the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in semiconductor technology, Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and simulation.
Around 200 teachers will be trained as master trainers under this programme, who will subsequently provide advanced technical training to thousands of students. The Governor said the initiative will equip youth with globally competitive technological skills.
25 Newly Developed Academic Facilities
The newly inaugurated infrastructure includes a conference hall, seminar auditorium, biochemistry laboratory, instrument room, plant and genetic breeding laboratory, eastern main entrance gate, CCTV surveillance system, pharmaceutical laboratory, pharmacology laboratory, newly constructed temple, aseptic room, botany laboratory, physics laboratory, pharmacognosy laboratory, chemistry laboratory, horticulture laboratory, data centre, computer lab, biology laboratory, smart classrooms, pharmaceutical chemistry lab and agronomy laboratory, among others.
During her visit, the Governor also offered prayers at the newly constructed temple within the university campus.
She later inspected the newly established laboratories of the pharmacy, science and agriculture departments, along with smart classrooms, the data centre, computer lab and other academic infrastructure.
She also reviewed the newly inaugurated eastern main gate and the campus-wide CCTV surveillance system, appreciating the university’s efforts to strengthen modern educational facilities and create an advanced learning environment for students.
