Governor Anandiben Patel Inaugurates 25 New Academic Facilities at Prof. Rajendra Singh University, Calls for Transparency in Evaluation System
In a significant step toward strengthening academic infrastructure and improving the credibility of the examination system, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Chancellor of state universities, Anandiben Patel, on Saturday inaugurated 25 newly developed academic facilities at Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University by pressing a ceremonial button.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor emphasized the urgent need to enhance transparency in the examination and evaluation process.
She suggested that universities should allow students access to their evaluated answer sheets, enabling them to clearly understand their academic shortcomings.
Such a system, she noted, would not only help students assess their own performance but would also enable parents to understand the basis on which their children have been evaluated.
Highlighting the broader academic benefits of this reform, the Governor stated that the provision to review answer scripts would encourage self-evaluation among students.
This would allow them to identify weak areas and take corrective steps to improve future performance.
She underlined that merely obtaining marks is not sufficient; it is equally important for students to understand where improvement is needed.
The Governor further observed that making answer sheets accessible would create a constructive sense of accountability among examiners, encouraging them to evaluate copies with greater fairness, care, and responsibility.
Such a measure, she said, would significantly enhance the credibility of the assessment process and reduce the chances of unnecessary disputes or grievances related to evaluation.
Describing the initiative as an important step towards strengthening quality, trust, and discipline in the education system, the Governor appreciated the efforts being made to improve academic standards and institutional transparency.
On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Singh welcomed the Chancellor by presenting a bouquet as a mark of respect and gratitude.
