Governor’s Address at Budget Session Projects Uttar Pradesh’s Transformed Identity

Lucknow: On the first day of the Budget Session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature, the Governor’s address to the joint sitting of both Houses on Monday emerged as a clear and comprehensive declaration of the state’s transformed identity.

Governor Anandiben Patel said that Uttar Pradesh has, in recent years, shed its image as a “bottleneck state” and redefined itself as a “breakthrough state,” recording tangible achievements in the areas of good governance, robust law and order, economic empowerment, agricultural expansion, women’s empowerment, infrastructure development, and wide-ranging public welfare.

During the address, members of the Opposition—particularly those from the Samajwadi Party—stormed into the well of the House, raising slogans and creating repeated disruptions in protest against the government.

Amid the uproar, the Governor issued stern warnings to the SP members on three occasions, directing them to return to their seats and allow the proceedings to continue.

The address stood out as a factual and constitutional presentation of the government’s policy resolve, administrative efficiency, and confident strides toward a developed Uttar Pradesh.

Emphasising the state’s progress, the Governor said that the law-and-order situation in Uttar Pradesh is today emerging as an effective benchmark at the national level, reflecting the government’s sustained focus on governance reforms and public safety.
