PRAYAGRAJ: The Ram Dal procession of the Baghambari Shri Ramleela Committee unfolded on Saturday with unmatched grandeur, blending religious devotion with artistic splendor.

The celebrations commenced at the Hanuman temple near Sabzi Mandi and Labour Chauraha, where District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, committee president Om Narayan Tripathi, and other office-bearers performed ceremonial worship of Lord Ram and Lord Lakshman, concluding the rituals with a heartfelt aarti.

From the temple, the beautifully adorned idols of Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Mata Sita were placed on an elaborate chariot and taken to the Baghambari Gaddi.

At the Gaddi, Lord Ram was ceremoniously bestowed with a tilak, and a final aarti was performed before the procession officially began.

The event drew prominent dignitaries, including BJP city president Sanjay Gupta, Kunj Bihari Mishra, Ramji Pandey, Ramnaresh Tiwari Pindivasa, Narendra Shukla, Harendra Singh, Dr. Pankaj Mishra, Ram Ashray Dubey, Ashu Dwivedi, and Munna Singh.

Spectacle of Artistic Floats

The procession featured over a dozen intricately decorated artistic floats (chowki) that captivated spectators. Notable depictions included Radha-Krishna, Lord Shiva performing the Tandava, Draupadi’s disrobing, Sita’s abduction, Krishna-Sudama, and the royal court of Ram (Ram Darbar).

Several floats showcased patriotic songs set to lively DJ beats, engaging the crowd in both devotional and cultural celebration.

At the rear of the chariot, the exquisitely crafted Ram Darbar float, with idols of Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Sita, enchanted onlookers with its artistic finesse. Complementing this visual grandeur were a striking Lord Ganesha statue on an artificial elephant and a depiction of Hanuman, enhancing the overall spectacle.

Community Participation and Route of Devotion

The procession traversed an extensive route, passing the Police Chowki, Lalata Sweet House, Labour Chauraha, and Bajrang Chauraha, turning by Maa Alopshankari Temple, before culminating at Tulsi Park late into the night.

Members of the Bengali community and local devotees enthusiastically joined, carrying the idols and celebrating the festival with traditional music, chants, and devotion.

The Ram Dal not only symbolized the triumph of righteousness and devotion to Lord Ram but also highlighted the rich cultural tapestry of Prayagraj. Combining spirituality, artistry, and community participation, the procession offered a mesmerizing spectacle, leaving the crowds awestruck.
