Helpers Linked to Dr. Shaheen Stayed at a Charbagh Hotel; Contradictions in Siblings’ Statements Deepen Suspicion

8

Lucknow: Four aides linked to Dr. Shaheen reportedly stayed at a hotel near Charbagh Railway Station two months ago.

Though Shaheen did not visit them at the hotel, she travelled with these four men and her brother, Dr. Parvez, to Kanpur the following day.

Based on alerts shared by Jammu & Kashmir Police, the UP ATS questioned several hotels in the Charbagh–Naka area.

However, none of the hotels could provide verifiable details of the suspects. According to ATS sources, the names provided by the accused did not match any hotel registers.

Even the hotel that the J&K Police had identified could not provide CCTV footage from two months ago, making verification difficult.

Both siblings have provided only vague physical descriptions of the four aides. With no photographs available, investigators are now trying to trace them through the call detail records of Shaheen and Parvez.

Discrepancies in Statements of Parvez and Shaheen

ATS sources confirm that significant contradictions have emerged in the statements of Dr. Parvez and Dr. Shaheen.

While both were interrogated separately by the J&K Police, several inconsistencies surfaced, and even when questioned together, they continued to evade direct answers.

Despite the evasiveness, investigators have gathered several crucial leads, now shared with UP intelligence and ATS teams.

Authorities are also mapping the duo’s movements in Lucknow and other districts over recent months.

Three More Doctors Went Missing Along With Dr. Shaheen; All Were Later Dismissed

Kanpur: The arrest of Dr. Shaheen in the Delhi blast case has revived an old mystery involving three other doctors from GSVM Medical College who disappeared suddenly around the same time as her.

In 2013, while heading the Pharmacology Department, Dr. Shaheen vanished without notice. Days later, three more doctors mysteriously went missing:

  • Dr. Nisar Ahmad Ansari – Surgery Department, resident of Lucknow
  • Dr. Hafeezul Rahman – Physiology Department, resident of Saharanpur
  • Dr. Hameed Ansari – Anatomy Department, resident of West Bengal

All four vanished for nearly four to five years, with no official trace despite repeated attempts to locate them.

Three Returned, Shaheen Did Not

Around 2017–18, Dr. Nisar, Dr. Hafeezul, and Dr. Hameed resurfaced one by one, reporting back to the college after years of unexplained absence.

Their return sparked rumours and speculation within academic circles.

According to sources, all three offered vague, inconsistent, or incomplete explanations.

Only Dr. Hameed admitted to having been abroad in Saudi Arabia, and that too without clarity. None of them furnished satisfactory answers about their prolonged, unexplained disappearance.

In 2021, after a formal inquiry, the state government dismissed all four doctors, including Dr. Shaheen.

Shaheen’s Claim: “Mental Distress After Divorce”

In 2020, Dr. Shaheen wrote to the college administration expressing her desire to rejoin duty.

She claimed her disappearance was due to severe mental distress following a divorce, and that her own and her parents’ health conditions prevented her from working.

However, she did not mention any foreign travel or the whereabouts of the years she was missing—gaps that have now resurfaced in the larger investigation.

Search Attempts Once Reached Their Homes

Former GSVM Principal Dr. Navneet Kumar recalls that after the doctors went missing in 2013–14, letters were sent repeatedly, and teams of doctors were dispatched to their residences.

All four houses were found locked. The matter was escalated to the state government.

Key Unanswered Questions That Now Resurface

Was the simultaneous disappearance of four doctors a coincidence—or part of a larger, coordinated plan?

Why were the initial search efforts slow, and why was only a formal inquiry done later, despite the suspicious circumstances

When three doctors returned without providing clear answers, were deeper investigations conducted at the time?

If one doctor is admitted to Saudi travel, were the relevant agencies alerted to verify the nature of their stay abroad?

And now, could the disappearance, foreign links, and later resurfacing of the group be connected to current terror-linked investigations involving Dr. Shaheen?
