Prayagraj, in Allahpur, a notorious history-sheeter was brutally killed late at night. Attackers crushed his head with bricks and stones.

His companion, Yasin Yadav, was also injured in the assault. He was admitted to SRN Hospital for treatment.

The victim has been identified as Sajan, a resident of Mumfordganj. He had over 21 criminal cases registered against him in various police stations.

On Friday night, after attending a birthday celebration, he was attacked near the Labour Colony in Alopibagh by a group of assailants.

Attack Details

Sajan, along with his friend Yasin, was returning from a birthday party when the attackers intercepted them. Around 12:30 am, a group of 15–20 people surrounded Sajan near Labour Colony and launched a violent attack.

The assailants used bricks and stones to crush his head. Severely injured, he collapsed on the spot, while his friend Yasin also sustained injuries. Locals rushed him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead.

Family’s Allegations

Sajan’s relatives alleged that the accused had long-standing enmity with him and were shielded by the police. They accused the police of protecting the attackers and failing to take preventive action, despite being aware of the hostility.

They further alleged that the local police routinely protected the accused. Police patrolling teams and emergency response vehicles (112) units, they said, would often be deployed near the accused’s homes.

Police Response

Police officials admitted that Sajan had a long criminal history and was facing multiple cases of extortion, assault, and intimidation. Teams have been deployed to track down the accused, and a case has been registered against 15–20 people.

Meanwhile, heavy police deployment has been ensured in the area to prevent any flare-up of tensions.
