After failing in its sinister designs to recruit local youths now Pakistan has started sending its former army soldiers as militants in the Jammu region.
Now the Indian Army is returning to the trouble-torn areas that have witnessed deadly militant attacks
According to highly placed sources, enough evidence during the past one and a half months has been found that clearly indicates that Pakistan has embarked upon a new method of recruiting its former army soldiers to be sent in as infiltrators and carry out destructive activities.
Having served in the army of Pakistan these soldiers are found to be better in many ways than the normal recruits who have to be trained in the art of warfare as well as how to hide, when to strike, and survival techniques.
The Kashmir valley, it may be mentioned, had witnessed a heavy turn out of voters during the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. This has greatly demoralized the Pakistanis as a result they now want to create as much unrest as possible in the Kashmir valley.
The strength of police and paramilitary forces was also being increased. Fifty-five places have been identifies in Rajauri, Poonch, Riyasi, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur, and Kathua districts.
There have been nine militant attacks since June 4. Twelve Indian security personnel have been killed and thirteen have been injured.
A security officer admitted that the forces have not been able to bust the overground network created by enemies.
Jaishe Mohammad and Lashkare Taiba had built a ground network in the Doda, Kishtwar, Punch, Rajauri, Riyasi, and Kathua areas during the past twenty years. These areas are covered by difficult terrain. These overground networks facilitate the entry of militants into Kashmir after crossing the International boundary and the line of actual control.
These workers hailing from Jammu Valley are living in small hutments built by them in very dense forests. These overground workers were the ones who had made all help available to the militants who had targeted a busload of pilgrims in Riyasi.
The main target of the security agencies is to eliminate these overground workers who help in unleashing deadly attacks.
It is for the first time that clear-cut evidence of the involvement of Pakistani soldiers came to light in the Riyasi attack. The killed militants were carrying satellite phones and weapons used by the Pak army. These militants were well-trained in jungle warfare and evidence also points out that they were connected with Pak paratroopers.
