Invest UP, the investment promotion and facilitation agency of the Uttar Pradesh government, hosted a high-profile investor roundtable on Tuesday at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
The event witnessed the participation of several prominent industrialists and the unveiling of investment proposals worth thousands of crores, according to an official statement.
The roundtable was chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and led by Invest UP CEO Vijay Kiran Anand.
The event brought together business leaders from across sectors, reaffirming their commitment to investing in Uttar Pradesh’s growth story.
One of the key announcements came from Balrampur Chini Mills, which signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government to establish a 250 TPD (tonnes per day) polylactic acid plant in Lakhimpur Kheri district.
With an investment of ₹2,850 crore, the project is expected to create 225 new jobs and is slated to begin operations this month. Company Chairman and Managing Director Vivek Saraogi emphasized the company’s focus on innovation in bioplastics, stating, “We aim to drive innovation in bioplastics and contribute to a greener future.”
Hiranandani Group Chairman Niranjan Hiranandani highlighted the achievements of Yotta Data Services, which has completed a 30 MW data centre in just 18 months.
He also revealed plans to double this capacity and announced a major foray into semiconductor manufacturing with a ₹28,440 crore project in Noida.
Sindoor Mittal, Vice President of Avaada Group, credited the supportive state policies for the rapid development of a 1.5 GW solar module plant, completed in just four months. He further committed an additional ₹20,000 crore investment in the state.
UltraTech Cement Managing Director K.C. Jhawar outlined expansion projects in Aligarh, Shahjahanpur, and Tanda, with a combined investment of ₹1,981 crore.
\He praised the state’s streamlined approval systems, which he said significantly improved the ease of doing business.
Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. CEO Sanjay Banga announced major energy projects in the Bundelkhand region, including plans to set up two 800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power units, with a total investment of ₹13,700 crore.
Additionally, Rajiv Ranjan Singh of EN Communication unveiled a proposal to build a Mahabharata Museum near the Yamuna Expressway, with an estimated investment of ₹1,500 crore.
The roundtable underscored Uttar Pradesh’s growing appeal as an investment destination, driven by proactive governance and industry-friendly policies.
