The latest case is the case of the famous PM Imran Khan, incarcerated in the jail for about three years.
Rumours claiming that former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been murdered inside Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, have flooded social media, fueling panic and political chaos across the country.
The 73-year-old leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been incarcerated since August 2023, facing multiple convictions widely described by his party as politically motivated.
The speculation began after several social media posts—citing unidentified “sources”—claimed that Khan had been killed in custody.
One viral post from an X account falsely claiming to represent the “Ministry of Foreign Affairs Baluchistan” shared an image showing Imran Khan lying motionless on a stretcher, suggesting he had been eliminated under the orders of Army Chief General Asim Munir and the ISI.
The caption declared that Pakistan’s “collapse” would begin once the truth emerged.
However, no credible media outlet, national or international, has confirmed these claims. Fact-checkers have clarified that the viral image is from November 2022, when Imran Khan survived an assassination attempt during a rally in Wazirabad.
It goes without saying that the Pakistani media is infamous for feeding wrong information and has a large role in ruining their country.

The accounts spreading the rumours have been flagged as fake or misleading, including the alleged Baluchistan ministry handle, which is registered in North America, not Pakistan.
Family Raises Concerns: “We fear for his life.”
Tensions escalated after Imran Khan’s sisters—Noreen Niazi, Aleema Khan, and Dr. Uzma Khan—were violently assaulted by police outside Adiala Jail last week, while attempting to see him after being denied visitation rights for over a month.
The family alleges that the jailauthoritiesn fearing Mulla Munir, as Arnab Goswami rightly calls him, the jail authorities are deliberately preventing all communication, raising fears about his well-being.
In a letter to Punjab Police Chief Usman Anwar, the family described the use of force as planned and brutal:
- “The streetlights were switched off, and police attacked us without warning,” said Noreen Niazi.
- “At 71, I was dragged by my hair across the road. Women were slapped and beaten. Our only crime was asking to meet our brother,” she wrote.
Imran Khan’s sons, Suleiman and Qasim, currently residing in the UK, have also reportedly expressed distress through private communications shared via PTI channels, saying they have been left in the dark and fear something severe may have happened.
PTI workers claim that the family has not been given any update on Khan’s medical condition.
PTI’s Official Stand
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership has strongly condemned the treatment of Khan and his family. Party spokespersons accuse military leadership of unprecedented suppression, claiming the state is operating outside constitutional limits.
PTI leaders say:

- “No lawyer, family member, party leader, or chief minister has been allowed to meet him. This has never happened in Pakistan’s history.”
Even Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was denied access seven consecutive times, despite being a senior constitutional office-holder.
Nationwide Unrest and Fear
Scenes outside Adiala Jail remain tense. Hundreds of PTI supporters and civil rights activists continue to sit in protest, refusing to leave until proof of Imran Khan’s safety is provided.
Many believe the military is intentionally silencing dissent, sparking anger across urban centres, including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi.
Across Pakistan, common citizens are asking:
