Junior Resident Doctor Found Unconscious in Friend’s Flat Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances in Prayagraj, Viscera Preserved for Probe
Prayagraj: A 30-year-old junior resident doctor from Motilal Nehru Medical College died under suspicious circumstances late Sunday night after being found unconscious inside the bathroom of a female doctor’s flat on Lajpat Road.
The exact cause of death remains unclear, prompting doctors to preserve the heart and viscera for detailed forensic examination.
The deceased, Dr. Aditya, was in his second year of the MS (Master of Surgery) course in the Department of Surgery at Motilal Nehru Medical College.
He was the elder son of M.R. Dilip, a resident of Allapur. His younger brother, Anirudh, is currently studying at Banda Medical College.
According to police officials, Dr. Aditya had gone to visit a woman doctor friend at her flat on Sunday night.
After arriving, he entered the bathroom but did not emerge for a considerable time. At the time, another colleague of the woman doctor was also present at the flat.
When repeated calls and knocks on the bathroom door went unanswered, concern grew among those present.
The woman doctor alerted other colleagues, who rushed to the flat.
The bathroom door was eventually forced open, and Dr. Aditya was found lying unconscious inside.
Fellow doctors immediately attempted to revive him by administering CPR, but his body did not respond.
He was rushed to SRN Hospital in critical condition, where doctors admitted him to the ICU. Despite efforts to save him, Dr. Aditya was declared dead approximately one and a half hours later.
The sudden and unexplained death has caused shock and grief among his family members, fellow doctors, and colleagues at both Motilal Nehru Medical College and SRN Hospital.
Police from Georgetown Police Station conducted the post-mortem examination on Monday.
As the exact cause of death could not be determined during the autopsy, the heart and viscera samples have been preserved for further forensic analysis to ascertain the precise reason behind the death.
So far, the family of the deceased has not submitted any formal complaint to the police.
Authorities have stated that further action will depend on the outcome of forensic reports and any complaint that may be filed by the family.
The entire medical fraternity is shocked and is in grief over the sudden death of such a young doctor who was dedicated to his profession and was doing well in his job.
DCP City Manish Shandilya said the postmortem could not clear the real cause of the death. Action will be taken after the forensic report and complaint by the family members.
