Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth Reunite After 47 Years; KH X RK Promo Sends Fans Into Frenzy

Fans of South Indian cinema have a big reason to celebrate. Two of the industry’s greatest legends — Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth — are finally coming together for a new film, nearly five decades after they last shared screen space.

The project, tentatively titled KH X RK, marks their on-screen reunion after 47 years. Their last appearance together was in the 1979 fantasy film Alauddinum Albhutha Vilakkum.

Over the years, the two icons have also appeared in memorable classics like Apoorva Raagangal, Avargal, Moondru Mudichu, and Pathinaru Vayathinile.

For decades, fans have hoped to see them reunite — and now that wish is finally coming true.

A Fun and Stylish Promo

The makers recently released the film’s first promo video, and it has only increased the excitement.

The promo begins in a light-hearted way. Director Nelson Dilipkumar is seen walking nervously in a corridor, confused about whose room he should enter first — Rajinikanth’s or Kamal Haasan’s.

At that moment, music composer Anirudh Ravichander appears with his own question: which raaga should he choose for the film’s music?

Anirudh suggests a simple trick — when confused, just hold up two fingers and pick one. Nelson laughs and decides to use the same trick to solve his bigger problem.

What follows is a funny montage. Nelson helps both superstars get ready, but keeps mixing up their belongings.

He confidently gives the wrong shoes and accessories to each actor, playfully irritating them. The comic timing adds charm to the promo.

Then the mood changes. The video shifts to a stylish reveal of both stars. Dressed sharply, they walk toward a car in a dimly lit garage.

Kamal Haasan takes the driver’s seat, while Rajinikanth sits beside him.

The scene ends with both legends turning to the director and asking one big question: Who is the hero?

A Poster With Retro Swag

Before the promo, the makers unveiled a striking poster. The design has a strong vintage feel. It shows two men in leather jackets wearing a gold watch and ring — clearly hinting at the classic style both actors are known for.

The tagline reads: “Some men set rules, some men rule.”

The poster and promo together have made KH X RK one of the most talked-about upcoming films.

A Powerful Team Behind the Film

The film will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, who previously directed Rajinikanth’s blockbuster Jailer and is also working on its sequel, Jailer 2.

With Anirudh Ravichander handling the music, expectations are even higher.

For fans, this film is more than just a project — it is the reunion of two giants of Indian cinema. After 47 years, seeing Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth share the screen again feels like history in the making.
