Bollywood actress Kangna Ranaut who has been in the news drew much attention in the parliament after she challenged the opposition to prioritise substance over slogans.
For Kangna it was her first political victory after the silver screen appearances in which she has made a name for herself.
But away from the glitter of bollywood Kangna sent message to the people that she had the capability to act as a responsible member of parliament.
This became evident by the manner in which she carried out her own political campaign during recently concluded election.
On June 24 she was sworn in as member of parliament from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
Considered to be quite outspoken, she said let’s see what they (opposition) bring to the table.
She said, we have a good opposition but mere shouting and indulging in slogans won’t do.
Like PM Narendra Modi said, the entire nation hopes that the opposition will be more responsible, Kangna too echoed the same voice.
In 2020 Kangna had picked up cudgels against the then Maharashtra CM Udhav Thakrey after the Shiv Sena ruled Brihanbhumi Municipal Corporation demolished alleged illegal portions of her bunglow in Bandra.
Part of her building was pulled down.
As she was away, she rushed to Mumbai and pulled up her sleeves against the CM.
Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court stopped the demolition.
On twitter she said, my house was suddenly declared illegal in last 24 hours they have destroyed everything inside…and now I am getting threats, they will come to my house and break it as well, I am glad my judgement of movie mafia’s favourite world’s best CM was right, she wrote.
Since then Kangna has been in the news.
