The Supreme Court has become quite upset with a judge of the Karnataka high court over the comments he made in two viral video clips doing rounds on social platforms.
In one video clip, Justice Vedvyaschar Shrishanand is seen saying that a certain place in Bengaluru was like mini Pakistan.
In the second video clip, the Judge is seen passing indecent remarks against a lady lawyer.
Taking cognizance of the viral videos the five Judge bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said, the videos were doing rounds on X.
Several lawyers have also urged the Apex court for legal action against the Karnataka High Court Judge.
The court has fixed Sept 25 as the next hearing date in this case. The court has also sought the assistance of Attorney General R Venketramni of India as well as the Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta.
The Supreme Court has also directed the Registrar General of Karnataka High Court to submit the entire report in this regard.
