Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar through his lawyer has urged the court to issue non bailable warrant against Kangna Ranaut, the famous actress who is now MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
The legal wrangle between the two is not new.
Both often comment against each other on social media. In the midst of all this Javed Akhtar on July 20 filed a petition against Kangna urging the court to issue a non-bailable warrant against her on the plea that she never shows up on dates fixed by the court.
She was again absent on July 20.
Earlier, Kangna had pleaded exemption from personal appearances in the court but the court had not granted her the same.
Citing the court’s refusal Javed’s lawyer has demanded that a non-bailable warrant be issued against her.
In the background lies a spat between her and Javed Akhtar during a function in 2016.
Kangna had caught the glare following an unconfirmed between her and Ritik Raoshan after which she had reportedly sent an e-mail to Javed.
It was then said that Javed Akhtar had called her at his house and that she should feel sorry for her actions.
Later Kangna termed this whole issue as defamatory. This led Javed Akhtar to feel that his meeting with Kangna was defamatory and he filed a suit against her.
This was led by Kangna, who also filed a defamatory suit against Javed in the same court, and the legal battle continued.
It is to be seen whether the court deems it fit to issue non bailable warrant against Kangna Ranaut or not.
