PRAYAGRAJ. On the sacred day of Saptami Tithi, the city of Prayagraj witnessed the grand procession of Bairahana’s Ramdal, a tradition steeped in devotion and spirituality. The locality of Bairahana glittered under attractive illuminations, while chants of “Jai Shri Ram” filled the air, reminding devotees of the eternal presence of their beloved Lord.

The main Bairahana road shimmered with lights and festive decorations. Stages were built at several points to welcome the procession, while loudspeakers reverberated with devotional music and bhajans.

The surrounding lanes, especially near Madhavapur Sabzi Mandi Road and Tikonia Crossing, resembled a fairground with food stalls, swings, and joy rides where children and families gathered till late in the night, all under the protective gaze of Lord Ram.

A Sacred Beginning

The day commenced at the revered Nimbark Ashram, where, amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras, the worship (pujan and aarti) of Lord Shri Ram and Lakshman was performed.

Leading figures such as Ramdal Committee President Ramji Agrahari, Vice-President and Councilor Sonu Pathak, MLA Harshvardhan Bajpai, and Mayor Ganesh Keservani offered their devotions.

The idols of Shri Ram and Lakshman were then placed with grandeur upon a decorated elephant, symbolizing their divine authority.

The procession began from the residence of Ramji Agrahari, passing through Tikonia and Madhavapur Sabzi Mandi, and concluded reverently at the Maa Kali Temple in Bairahana Crossing.

Along its path, the Ramdal mesmerized devotees with artistic tableaux of Ram Darbar, Shiv Tandav, and Radha-Krishna Leela, each tableau radiating divine grace and spiritual energy.

The Eternal Message of Lord Shri Ram

Lord Shri Ram is not merely remembered as the king of Ayodhya but revered as the embodiment of righteousness (Dharma), compassion, truth, and self-sacrifice. His life, as narrated in the great epic Ramayana, is not just a story but a spiritual guidebook for humanity.

  • As a son, he taught the lesson of obedience and respect for parents.
  • As a brother, he showed the power of love, loyalty, and protection.
  • As a husband, he became the symbol of trust and commitment.
  • As a king, he upheld justice above all personal interests, ruling with fairness and humility.

Lord Ram’s message is timeless: that life must be lived in accordance with Dharma, even when challenges and trials seem unbearable.

His victory over Ravana is not only a tale of good defeating evil, but also a reminder that arrogance, lust, and unrighteousness are bound to perish before truth, humility, and justice.

For every Sanatani, the very chant of “Jai Shri Ram” is a source of strength, uniting communities, lifting spirits, and reinforcing faith that the Lord continues to walk with his devotees.

Beyond India, across the world, the ideals of Shri Ram resonate as a universal code of morality, discipline, and love.

A Celebration Beyond Boundaries

In Prayagraj, this Ramdal is more than a cultural event—it is the living expression of faith that has traveled through centuries.

For the people, seeing Lord Ram and Lakshman atop the elephant is not just a ritual, but a divine reassurance that Dharma is eternal and that the Lord will always return to protect his devotees whenever unrighteousness rises.

As the Ramdal concluded at Maa Kali Temple, the hearts of the devotees swelled with devotion, carrying with them the eternal promise of Lord Ram—that wherever there is faith, truth, and prayer, the Divine will never be far.

A Devotional Offering

O Lord Shri Ram, embodiment of Dharma and compassion,
May your name ever dwell on our lips and in our hearts.
Guide us with your truth, protect us with your grace,
And let your light forever dispel the darkness of this world.

Jai Shri Ram!
