Lucknow Police Secure Non-Bailable Warrant Against KGMU Doctor Accused of Sexual Exploitation and Religious Coercion, Launch Manhunt

The Lucknow Police have intensified their crackdown on a junior resident doctor of King George’s Medical University after securing a non-bailable warrant against him in a case involving grave allegations of sexual exploitation, deception, and coercion.
The accused doctor, booked last month following a complaint by a fellow woman doctor, is currently absconding, prompting the police to step up efforts to trace and arrest him.
Senior police officials confirmed that a reward of ₹25,000 has been announced for any information leading to the arrest of the accused.
In parallel, the police have decided to approach the court seeking orders to attach his movable and immovable properties, citing his continued evasion despite repeated attempts to locate him.
Raids Across States, Accused Still Untraceable
According to police sources, multiple teams have carried out raids at the accused’s known addresses, including his residence in Uttarakhand and his ancestral home in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh.
However, these operations have so far failed to yield any concrete information about his whereabouts.
“Raids are being conducted continuously to trace the doctor, who is on the run,” said Vishwajeet Srivastava, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Lucknow, adding that law enforcement agencies are following up on all possible leads.
The Station House Officer of the concerned police station stated that the decision to seek court permission for property attachment was taken after sustained efforts to locate the accused proved unsuccessful, indicating deliberate attempts to evade arrest.
University Acts, Doctor Suspended
In view of the seriousness of the allegations, King George’s Medical University has already suspended the accused doctor.
University authorities have maintained that strict action was necessary to uphold institutional integrity and ensure accountability, given the nature of the charges and the ongoing police investigation.
Allegations of Deceit, Assault, and Forced Abortion
According to the police complaint, the woman doctor alleged that she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by the accused over a period of time under the false promise of marriage.
She further claimed that she became pregnant in September last year and that the accused allegedly administered abortion pills to her without her informed consent.
The complainant also told investigators that she later came into contact with another woman who identified herself as the accused’s wife.
According to her statement, this woman claimed she had converted to her husband’s religion for the marriage, which was reportedly solemnized in February last year.
When confronted with these allegations, the accused allegedly denied the marriage and the claims made by both women, the police said.
Wider Probe Underway
Police officials confirmed that they have contacted the woman who claimed to be the accused’s wife and are verifying her statements as part of the investigation.
In addition, investigators are collecting the accused doctor’s academic records, employment history, and personal details to identify possible hideouts or contacts that could aid in tracking him down.
The complainant, police said, belongs to a different community, and this aspect is also being examined in the context of the allegations related to religious coercion.
Charges Framed Under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
The accused has been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Section 69 (sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means such as false promise of marriage), Section 89 (causing miscarriage without a woman’s consent), and Section 351 (criminal intimidation).
Police officials said the investigation is ongoing and assured that all legal measures will be pursued to ensure the accused is apprehended and brought before the law.
