In a shocking incident from the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a temporary cleric, known as a *Qari*, has been arrested for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old student. The crime occurred in a mosque located in the Nakur police station area.
–How It Happened: The incident took place on Sunday when the girl had gone to a water tank near the mosque. The accused, Qari Shavez, allegedly found her alone, covered her mouth, and dragged her to a room adjacent to the mosque to commit the crime.
– Discovery of the Crime: When the girl did not return home, her family began searching for her. Her grandfather heard screams coming from the direction of the mosque and went to investigate. He found the room’s door locked and, upon looking inside, discovered the accused assaulting his granddaughter, who was found unconscious and bleeding.
-Aftermath and Arrest: The family and local villagers caught the cleric and handed him over to the police. The police have registered a case and arrested the accused.
The victim was sent for a medical examination and is reported to be in a state of shock. The main Imam of the mosque was away at the time, and the accused was temporarily responsible for the mosque’s affairs.
Gang-Rape of Minor Reported in Mirzapur, Three Juveniles Held
In a separate case from the Mirzapur district, a gang-rape of a minor girl has been reported, leading to the arrest of three accused individuals.
– The Assault: The police stated that a family member lured the minor girl to a secluded spot near a river on the pretext of an errand.
Two other juveniles were already present there, and the three then allegedly gang-raped her.
Family Member Involved: Reports indicate that one of the accused is a relative of the victim.

The police have taken the three juveniles into custody.
In a related development, another sexual harassment case in Mirzapur involving a different set of accused and a viral video led to a police encounter on Monday. The main accused in that case, Pintu Pal, was shot in the leg after he opened fire on police and was subsequently arrested.
