Modi Targets Congress, Accuses Party of Backing Infiltrators and Undermining the Army in Assam Rally

Addressing a massive gathering in Assam on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, charging it with siding with Pakistan-trained terrorists and shielding infiltrators instead of standing firmly with India’s armed forces.

Recalling ‘Operation Sindoor’, Modi said that while the Indian Army successfully dismantled terror bases across the border, the Congress leadership chose to defend infiltrators and anti-national elements. “Instead of saluting the soldiers, they tried to save those who were weakening the nation,” he alleged.

Expressing gratitude, the Prime Minister attributed the operation’s success to the blessings of Maa Kamakhya, noting the privilege of addressing people from such a revered land.

Turning to history, Modi remarked that the scars left on Assam by the 1962 Chinese aggression under Jawaharlal Nehru’s leadership remain unhealed, leaving generations with painful memories of neglect.

The Prime Minister vowed that the BJP would never permit infiltrators to seize land or alter Assam’s demographic balance through conspiracies, insisting that national security and the rights of citizens will be fully safeguarded.

Drawing a comparison between Congress and BJP governments, Modi highlighted how little infrastructure the Congress managed to build during its decades in power. “For years, they ruled and raised only three bridges on the Brahmaputra. In contrast, under the BJP’s decade-long rule, six new bridges have been built, showing what true development means,” he declared.

The Prime Minister accused past Congress administrations of allowing encroachments on farmers’ lands and even places of worship, saying that such wrongs are now being undone by the BJP-led NDA government. “Since coming to power, we have started correcting these injustices, reclaiming thousands of acres from illegal occupiers,” Modi said.

He issued a challenge to political opponents: “I ask those who openly defend infiltrators—what have you done to protect this land? Compare your efforts to ours. Those who provide shelter to infiltrators will be answerable to the people. The nation will not pardon such betrayal.”

On the economic front, Modi underlined Assam’s progress, citing a 13 percent growth rate achieved under what he called the “double-engine government” of the BJP at the Centre and in the state.

He further added that Assam is being shaped into a major healthcare hub for the region, while emphasizing that the entire Northeast is pivotal to achieving the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’—a developed India.
