PRAYAGRAJ: The Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch a major recruitment drive to fill over 23,000 posts in 4,512 aided secondary schools across the state.
These vacancies include positions for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), Headmasters, and Principals.
To facilitate this recruitment, all districts were asked to submit vacancy data to the Education Directorate, including projected vacancies up to March 31, 2026.
Except for Ghazipur, every district has sent the required information. According to data compiled so far from 71 districts, 22,201 posts are currently vacant.
With data from the remaining four districts expected soon, the total number of vacancies is likely to exceed 23,000.
Once the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission’s online portal becomes operational, the Directorate will upload the vacancy details for further processing.
Deputy Director of Education (Secondary-3), Dr. Brajesh Mishra, stated that instructions have been issued to DIOS (District Inspectors of Schools) to certify that the sent vacancy details exclude posts reserved for offline transfers in the 2025–26 session and only represent direct recruitment positions.
Action on Unauthorized Affiliation Orders
In a separate development, the Additional Chief Secretary for Basic and Secondary Education issued orders on October 21 to immediately cancel any affiliation granted without government approval.
Officials have also been instructed to send personnel back to their original postings where such unauthorized affiliation orders were implemented.
