The killer wave has devoured 51 more lives in the state. At a time when life has become unbearable there seems to be no respite from the ongoing heat spell in the state till June 21, in case weatherman proves to be correct.
As per reports sunday temperature in Allahabad was the highest among all districts at 47.6 degrees.
Deaths have been reported from Bundelkhand, Kanpur,Hamirpur, Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Orai and some other places.
At many places streets wore a deserted look even as the Bakrid festival is being celebrated on Monday. On the other hand traffic snarls were also reported from few areas.
Traffic chaos was reported from both the Yamuna and Shashtri bridge areas on Sunday.
Forty two year old Mitresh Singh lecturer at a degree college in Handia had taken ill. He was rushed to a city hospital in a critical stage but the car in which he was being brought to the city got stuck in a traffic snarl that lasted for hours. As a result he could not survive.This tragic incident took place on Shashtri bridge on Ganga river that connects Varanasi to Allahabad city.
Only those in emergencies appeared to be venturing out of their houses on Monday that proved to be yet another difficult day.
An unspecified number of patients had been reporting at different government and private hospitals of the district as well as the entire state.
There appears to be no let up in temperatures on June 17 in the state.
Most of the districts in Uttar Pradesh were expected to reel under severe heat conditions on Tuesday.
However, there were signs of drizzle and thunderstorm in a few districts of the state.
