Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said,  Ma Ganga has adopted me as her child. This has been made possible by the people of Kashi ( Varanasi) who made me victorious for the third time. Now I belong to Kashi.

People of this country have reposed trust in me. This has given me strength to work day and night for the well being and progress of the country.

This victory serves as the beauty and strength of Indian democracy which attracts the world.

He said needs of youth and farmers, women empowerment and poor would be addressed in the third term.

Farming was the backbone of Indian economy and farmers are the soul of this country.

Farming would go a long way in making the country third biggest economy in this world. He said women would also play pivotal role in giving farming new direction and strength.

His dream was to see at least one Indian meal on every dining table in the  world.

The PM was speaking at a farmers’ conclave at Mehdiganj Madai in Varanasi.

The PM also released a sum of 20,000 crores in the accounts of 9.25 crore farmers in the country under the 17th installment.

The PM also distributed certificates to more than 30,000 self help groups of women. The aim of ‘krishi sakhi’ certification programme is to provide an agriculture para extension to women.

He also handed over some certificates to women from MP, Meghalaya, Karnatak, UP and Varanasi.

After being sworn in as PM for the third time he participated in the grand Ganga Arti, a daily religious ritual and later offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath temple.

The PM was accorded warm welcome by the people of Varanasi.

He left for Nalanda, Bihar Wednesday morning.
